Khalida khan-Biology chemistry physics
Qualified secondary science teacher
I have been teaching for 30 years and I have a large range of teaching experiences, from primary, secondary, through to adult education. However, most of my experience (20 years) has been in secondary schools, teaching KS3 and GCSE sciences. I have taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics up to GCSE level and I am familiar with the AQA and EDEXCEL specifications.
I have given private tuition to a number of pupils who have acheived their target grades. I have very high expectations of all my pupils and I ensure that the teaching material/lessons are tailored to exactly what the students require. Most of my pupils went onto studying Sciences at a higher level.
I enjoy teaching and have a caring, supportive approach in which the pupils feel comfortable, which is essential in order for them to develop and be able to ask for help and ask for help with anything they do not understand.
Testimonials from pupils:
"she always made sure that I understood the work by questioning me, and if I didn't she would go over it again and was very patient. She really wanted me to do well."
"Any topics I did not understand in chemistry at school, she would go through the topics with me, and went through exam questions and exam techniques which gave me a lot of confidence . I actually began to enjoy the subject and got a grade 7 . Thank you."
Testimonials from parent:
"I could really see the difference in my son, he understood the subject better, even to the point his chemistry teacher at school noticed a difference in him. She worked very hard with him and never gave up. She was amazing."
