Rachel Byng-Primary School Teacher

Fully Qualified Primary School Teacher with QTS
I am a fully qualified Primary School teacher (QTS) with over 12 years of experience. I have a passion for helping children to develop confidence in all subject areas and make learning engaging and enjoyable. I am available for day time and evening sessions. I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from University of Worcester and a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies from Worcester University too. I have taught students at all ages from 5 -12 in mainstream schools and have tutored KS1, KS2 and KS3 Mathematics. I hаve а trаck recоrd оf success аnd delivering results thrоugh privаte tutоring аnd аt clаssrооm level. I hаve significаnt, lоng-term experience аt KS1 & KS2 levels. Every child deserves an opportunity to reach their maximum potential. In addition to focusing on a child`s academic progress, I always look for opportunities to boost their confidence and self-esteem – as these are crucial for a holistic development. Difficult concepts are broken down in smaller ones through scaffolding using different techniques differentiated according to each child`s individual need. It is important to push each child past their comfort zone, and I do exactly that with the students I tutor by challenging them in different ways. I tutor children across the primary phase, all the way from teaching how to read and write in English, to solving complex problems in Maths, to preparing them for their upcoming SATs exams. I tailor my lessons to cater for each child’s individual needs. I have a gentle and friendly approach towards children and I always look for ways to help them make connections between the things they learn and for them to develop a love for learning. I believe that every child is truly special and unique. I have successfully tutored children with specific learning needs and have lots of experience working with children with ADD and ADHD. I enjoy forming positive learning relationships with children and providing them with what they need in order to succeed. I have a fun, bubbly and caring personality and am happy to be of help in any way that you need. I find it reаlly rewаrding tо see а student reаch their gоаls аnd tаke pride in inspiring аnd cоntributing tо their аchievements. I аspire tо deliver success fоr аll оf my students.

Kirsty Owen - Primary School Teach...

Kirsty Owen-Primary School Teacher

Fully qualified Primary School Teacher with QTS
I am a fully qualified Primary School teacher (QTS) with over 11 years of teaching experience. I have a passion for helping children to develop confidence in all subject areas and make learning engaging and enjoyable. I am available for day time and evening sessions. I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from University of University and a BA (Hons) in Primary Education  from Nottingham Trent University. I have taught students at all ages from 5 -12 in mainstream schools and have tutored KS1, KS2.  I live in Nottingham, England (UK). I'm a native English speaker but I’ve got a passion for teaching and travelling, so the fact that I can combine the two of these makes it a perfect combination; I’m able to teach whilst reaching out to people from all over the world, which I find fascinating. I love to learn more about others whilst helping them achieve their life-long goals. I am available Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8 am - 4:30 pm (GMT) and I will be available full-time (Monday to Friday) from 22nd July 2023. Apart from my teaching degrees, i also have a TEFL certification. I have been a Teaching Assistant for 3 years and a Primary School Teacher for 8 years which means I have 11 years of experience working with children. I have been teaching TEFL online to children, young learners and adults since October 2022. I have taught in multi-cultural communities in England and my previous school I worked in had 95% EAL, which means almost all of the children attending this school speak English as an Additional Language. This has taught me many skills such as patience, understanding, and how to teach in a range of ways to ensure I’m understood. My experience is perfect for teaching English online as I understand the process of teaching another language and the difficulties you may have and how to overcome them. I start with determining your English level by doing baseline assessments and discovering your areas for development. I then develop a specific plan with you based on how much time and effort you can give to your learning journey. I tailor my plans to suit your needs whilst making it fun and interactive to ensure you're motivated to learn as well as making good progress in your learning journey. My classes are very personalised and activity-based to keep you engaged, motivated and always improving. If you are an adult, we will have engaging conversations based on your personal interests, hold meaningful discussions based on attaining your life goals, as well as keeping things light-hearted to maintain interest and motivation. If you are a young learner, we will have diverse and engaging lessons in which we play talk, play games, use props (such as teddies, learning materials e.g. alphabet mats, globes etc), share video clips, articles, read stories and much, much more…! If there is something specific you require, I can plan it for you and we can do a sequence of progressive lessons to ensure full understanding and improvement in key areas so that you feel comfortable, as well as achieve next steps in your learning. I offer general English, Business English and conversational English classes. I am able to support you in your job applications or exam preparation whilst monitoring and guiding your grammatical structure, technical vocabulary and English pronunciation and fluency. I tailor lessons to suit you. Whether you want more formal lessons with structured learning units, informal discussions, or a combination of the two, I can teach based on your personal preferences. I believe that learning English should be ultimately enjoyable, so whether you are a beginner or a student looking to be fluent in English, there is always a way to achieve that in a fun and dynamic way. I look forward to creating fun and personalised lessons for you. Please get in touch to find out more now!
