I am a fully qualified and highly experienced Science Teacher / tutor with specialism in Biology. I can teach all three science up to GCSEs and Biology up to A-level. Academically, I studied at the University of Manchester for my undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences and did a post-grad degree in digital communication.
I also studied at Clitheroe grammar sixth form for my A-levels before continuing to Manchester University for my undergraduate degree. I am available to teach online via Teams or Zoom and have ample experience teaching online to pupils of varying abilities and backgrounds, I am happy to help any student studying for their GCSEs in any of the three sciences and A-level Biology.
I am also available to teach Science to KS3 students as I have sound understanding of the entire National Curriculum. My lessons are best described as interactive, supportive, and transparent as I actively encourage my students to have a voice in the sessions, ask questions when they come up, and participate in all conversations regardless of their level of confidence.
The sessions are specifically designed for each individual student considering the level they are currently working at, target grade, their areas for development and preferred learning style.
I have a few years of tutoring experience and during these years, i have taught all major exam boards ie AQA, OCR, EDEXCEL etc. In addition to my subject expertise, I have extensive experience supporting children and young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). This has given me a strong understanding of how to foster students’ confidence, resilience, and self-belief while also supporting their academic development.

I’m a highly experienced English Language & ESOL teacher/ lecturer with an excellent knowledge in these subjects. I graduated from the University of Sussex with a BA Hons degree in languages and went on to do a Licentiate Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages with Trinity College London, as well as a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) at the University of Leicester and am now working on a Master’s Degree in Digital Education with the University of Leeds.

At present, I teach at Bedford College delivering predominately English GCSE, and some Functional Skills, to students over sixteen across three separate departments, undertake skills analysis, classroom delivery and exam preparation.

- I worked as an Adult Courses & Student Engagement Coordinator in Singapore under the British Council; planned and delivered lessons across the age and product range, including IELTS, GE, BE/BES and N1 – GP2. Supported delivery through material dissemination, and creation, SOW rewrites and in-house training.
- Head of Maths/ Course Team Leader Functional Skills/ CTL ESOL - Worked collaboratively with a team to ensure delivery of Maths (and English) across 20+ departments over three sites in an FE college. This included the development of a student progress tracker, a mentoring programme for newly recruited staff, the upload and development of self-access materials via our Moodle platform, the introduction of GCSE Maths, and IQA training and oversight for exam delivery and marking.

I keep up to date on all the recent changes in GCSE and A level maths Being forced to work at home during lockdown meant a change in my working practices.
