I’m a highly experienced Spanish teacher/ tutor. I have excellent knowledge in the subject. I graduated from University of Chester with a BA (hons) in Spanish and Journalism. At GCSE and A level I build into each session past exam questions using the techniques learnt in the lesson. I teach all exam boards. I am happy to set homework questions to build upon the skills covered and will mark and give feedback on any work completed. In addition, I provide a plan of work to be covered for the term/ year after consulting with students and parents. I have been a Spanish tutor/ teacher for a few years now, I also lived in Spain on the Costa Blanca for sixteen years where i grew up speaking the Spanish language with fluency. During this time i taught at an International Language School in Spain and decided to return to the UK, where i was educated at Rugby School and then went on to obtain her degree in Spanish at the University of Chester. Being forced to work at home during lockdown meant a change in my working practices. I have had the opportunity to develop my online teaching at KS3, GCSE and A level with positive feedback from my students and their parents. I can use a variety of learning platforms through which to teach the lesson, making the most of technology to model any of the topics being studied. I would be in the position to support students seeking to apply and sit Oxford entrance exams for these subject. In 2010 I set up The Spanish Academy, offering Spanish tuition to adults & children of all ages, and also became a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists. I have taught in a variety of secondary schools across Norfolk & Cambridgeshire and specialises in Spanish GCSE & A level tuition. After ten successful years, i now tutor online as well as face to face and teaching students from some of the UK’s top public schools such as Eton, Harrow & Radley. As this is the crux of both English Literature and language, together we will explore the optimum structure, language and content for both GCSE and A-Level essays. Independent practice essays created from the student’s exam Specifications will be set and marked by me, before being discussed and improved in the lesson. Being forced to work at home during lockdown meant a change in my working practices. Difficult concepts are broken down in smaller ones through scaffolding using different techniques differentiated according to each child`s individual need. It is important to push each child past their comfort zone, and I do exactly that with the students I tutor by challenging them in different ways. I tutor children across the primary phase, all the way from teaching how to read and write in English, to solving complex problems in Maths, to preparing them for their upcoming SATs or 11+ exams. I tailor my lessons to cater for each child’s individual needs. I have a gentle and friendly approach towards children and I always look for ways to help them make connections between the things they learn and for them to develop a love for learning. I believe that every child is truly special and unique. I have successfully tutored children with specific learning needs, as well as children that have English as an additional language.
