I am a primary school teacher with 4 years teaching experience and hold a Bachelors degree in Education and fully registered in the UK. I have taught students at all ages from 5-12 and have a passion for helping students to reach their full potential. My areas of strength are in English, Reading, Writing and Maths.
I am trained in the UK phonics programme and have experience teaching EAL and students who have English as a second language. I have taught all subjects in the UK curriculum for primary sector in different schools.
I have experience working with children who have disabilities, autism, ADHD and other learning barriers. I am originally from New Zealand and have been working with children in many different job areas since I was very young.
I like to create my own resources to cater specifically to the individual’s needs and to create the best possible learning out come for them. I strive to inspire children to be the best that they can be and help them in as many ways as possible.

I am a private tutor specialised in Biology at A-level, and Physics, Chemistry and Biology at GCSE. I am a Qualified Secondary School Science teacher and I taught Science in several Oxfordshire Secondary Schools for three years and also ran the after-school Science Club in those schools.
I would like to encourage my students to comprehend the underlying principles rather than just learning by heart facts. I am also an International trainer for Public Health England. I studies BSc in Medical Genetics to understand more about rare genetic disorder which is running in my family.
To learn more about molecular genetics and also to help protecting environment, I did a PhD in Using Genetic technology to control pest insect population. I spent 10 years in Biotechnology industry and travelled to Morocco to help them with insect pest population.
I have transitioned between two quite different careers and I can build relationships and empathise with students and colleagues from all backgrounds. I love art: I paint and read about art in my spare time, and I travel frequently. I became a private tutor in 2010. I enjoyed teaching and training young minds, so I decided to become a Secondary school teacher.
In 2018 I changed career into teaching and completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education course at Oxford University. My goals were to improve my educational communication skills, creativity, confidence and conflict resolution skills.
During my training, I was selected to teach in Him Jyoti Boarding School in India. I advised and assisted the school Head Teacher on developing a new science curriculum to make it more interactive and up to date.
I am a qualified microbilogist trainer and I am specilised in creating elearning and online learning contents.

I have a degree in English Language and Social Sciences from Liverpool University and a Master’s in Education from Open University. Having many years of teaching experience and teacher training on three continents, and an enthusiasm to help young people achieve success, makes Andrea a good investment in your child’s future.
I have been more than 20 years of classroom teaching GCSE (KS4), KS3, KS2 & adult learners. All these years, i have been teaching English Language, Literature, Geography and History. I am a DELTA and master practitioner in NLP have kept up with developments in Education over the years.
I can provide extra support for students who need specialised help as well as stretching those who aspire to be the best. I am also an IELTS tutor My teaching path took me into research into reporting styles, piloting GNVQs, and writing UCAS references. I have also worked as a teacher-trainer and a course writer. I also take students for elocution (accent softening, good communication and confident speaking).
I am widely travelled and having taught on three continents so far in my teaching career. Despite the length of time, I have worked as a teacher, I am still enthusiastic to help young people achieve success.
When I am not teaching, I am still active as a sports person and I blog and write for magazines.

Since qualifying as an English teacher in 2002, I have progressed from the position of class teacher to faculty head, consultant and Assistant Head. I am also the Director of Education at a specialist provision for children with Educational Healthcare plans at my school along side my teaching job.
Throughout this period, I have continued to work as an examiner for all 3 major exam boards, AQA, OCR & Edexcel. I am a specialist in re-engaging children back into education and I am currently in the final stage of my doctorate; my research focusing on the importance children’s agency and voice.
My approach is to design a program with the student, filling any gaps in understanding before developing knowledge and skills. I have many years’ experience of tutoring at key stage 3, 4 and 5 and have taught every exam board for English at GCSE and A Level.
