A highly experienced and enthusiastic teacher with 20 years of classroom experience and 2 years tutoring. i have an in-depth and thorough knowledge of the A-level chemistry specification which enables me to identify gaps in a students knowledge and explain clearly the concepts required. Students are given the tools to gain confidence in chemistry and build a strong knowledge base to succeed. 

I always endeavour to teach even the most complex and difficult topics of chemistry in a simplified manner. Exam questions will be available and answers discussed for all questions. I teach the major exam boards, including AQA, OCR A, EDEXCEL on the new 2015 curriculum for England and Wales.

I am a patient tutor with an informal approach to lessons that I adapt to the individual need of each student. I am passionate about discussion in Chemistry and wish to provide a space where students feel comfortable to ask questions or say they are unsure.

Through continual praise and encouragement, I am well suited to be able to help students that are anxious or cannot grasp areas of their subjects. I am also happy to set homework questions to build upon the skills covered in the lessons, if agreed, and will mark and give feedback on any work completed.

The platforms I use to teach online are Microsoft teams & Google meet.

The ability to experience each student’s progress at every stage is incredibly rewarding and a wonderful part of my role as a tutor. I look forward to teaching your son/daughter!

Allow me to thank Sue Schulkins for the wonderful work she has done with our son’s English classes. We have seen our son’s interest grow as the sessions have progressed. Before Sue started out with him - I noticed she gathered as much information as she could and she listened to us and even adopted some of our methods. She improved on them and added her own unique creativity. She was very unlike some teachers who would insist on using their own method - she never did that. She was able to find out from our son his expectations and discovered he loves unusually funny narratives. She incorporated this into her curriculum and we have seen such a marked improvement in his English comprehension. He is having fun during the English sessions and his work has improved. He is attentive and focused. Sue Schulkins is certainly a different kind of teacher and we are very happy with her work. Well done Sue.

My son worked with Katie Jackson for his GCSE Combined Science ( Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) and it made a real difference.
