The sessions I run are specifically designed for each individual student. This considers the level they are currently working at, target grade, their areas for development and preferred learning style.
At GCSE, A-LEVEL & University, I build into each session past exam questions using the techniques learnt in the lesson. I teach all exam boards for high Schools and Colleges. I am happy to set homework questions to build upon the skills covered and will mark and give feedback on any work completed.
In addition, I provide a plan of work to be covered for the term/ year after consulting with students and parents. I find it reаlly rewаrding tо see а student reаch their gоаls аnd tаke pride in inspiring аnd cоntributing tо their аchievements.

My tutoring approach is predominantly centred around essay practice. As this is the crux of both English Literature and language, together we will explore the optimum structure, language and content for GCSE essays. Independent practice essays created from the student’s exam Specifications will be set and marked by me, before being discussed and improved in the lesson.
I can use a variety of learning platforms through which to teach the lesson, making the most of technology to model any of the topics being studied.

My lessons focus on assisting with the development of ideas and arguments that can be applied with clarity to exam questions. I am particularly adept at helping students with their analytical skills, enabling them to showcase convincing judgements to examiners as well as perfecting their exam structure.
I encourage engagement in my lessons and wish to provide a space where students feel comfortable to ask questions or say they are unsure. Through continual praise and encouragement, I am well suited to be able to help students that are anxious or cannot grasp areas of their subjects. I provide a plan of action for going forward and keep parents consulted on their child’s progress. The platforms I use to teach online are Zoom and Microsoft teams.
