Hello, I’m Fathima, a medical graduate with a strong background in Maths and Science. I have experience tutoring students one-to-one, helping them build confidence and improve their grades. I’ve worked with learners of all abilities, including those with special educational needs, and always adapt my lessons to suit each child’s style of learning. I hold a First-Class BA (Hons) degree in English and History, alongside a PGCE in Secondary English with QTS. Over the past eight years, I have gained extensive experience teaching in both Primary and Secondary settings through classroom teaching, supply work, and co-teaching. This has given me a strong understanding of the different stages of education and the varied needs of learners. My approach to tutoring is centred on accessibility and progression. I work with each student to design a personalised programme that bridges any gaps in understanding before extending and developing their knowledge and skills. I have significant experience in creating tailored tutoring sessions that meet the individual needs of children, helping them to grow in both confidence and ability. I'm an experienced Business Studies and Economics teacher with over 10 years across multiple business subjects alongside an extensive range of SEN experience to understand individuals needs and make them feel confident towards learning. I am a fully qualified Psychology teacher with QTS. I have 36 years teaching experience in the classroom, on summer schools, teacher training and one-to-one tuition. I taught Psychology IB and A Level (AQA) for 10 years at an international sixth form college in Cambridge which I absolutely loved. I particularly enjoy working with sixth formers who are at a crucial stage of their academic careers as Real Life beckons. (uni, work, exploring the world etc.) As well as teaching Psychology full time I have also co-authored two IB Psychology textbooks (‘Psychology Sorted’ Books 1 and 2) and I am the Psychology content creator for Save My Exams online revision resource. My lessons are fun (I know all teachers say that, but I really do think mine are; I have a silly sense of humour which most students enjoy). I am a keen amateur figure skater: when I’m not teaching, I’m to be found in the middle of a freezing cold ice rink trying to perfect the toe loop jump.
