I am a highly qualified and experienced Mathematics tutor with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping students build confidence, understanding, and independence in maths. Recently I have been accepted to study a PGCE with QTS in Mathematics at The University of Oxford. I hold a First Class BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from Nottingham Trent University and a Distinction in MSc Finance and Investment Banking from Nottingham Business School. I have also completed the ACT Certificate in Treasury (Distinction), reflecting strong analytical skills and academic rigour. I tutor all ages and students of varying abilities. My teaching style is calm, structured, and encouraging. I use scaffolding techniques to break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps, gradually reducing support as students gain confidence and independence. I focus on deep conceptual understanding, not rote learning, and encourage students to explain their reasoning and develop strong problem‑solving skills. I monitor progress using formative assessment during lessons and summative assessment through topic tests and exam‑style questions, ensuring gaps are identified early and progress is clearly measured. What you can expect:

I am an experienced Secondary school Science teacher with 16 years of classroom experience in the UK, in addition to face to face tutoring alongside my roles in school. I am a former Head of Biology and throughout my teaching experience I have taught across both the age range, from 11-18 years, and ability range, from SEND to Gifted and Talented pupils.
