Fully qualified Physics teacher with 10+ years teaching experience
University College London: PGCE in Physics & Maths
The University of Nottingham: MSci Physics
I have spent the last ten years teaching GCSE and A-level Physics in highly achieving Secondary Schools and Outstanding Colleges in East London. I have held a Head of Physics post for the majority of that time. I love teaching, especially Physics, which can be mind boggling, challenging and can radically change the way we see the world! I have a Physics and Maths PGCE from UCL, the world's leading education institute.
I have an undergraduate and Masters degree in Physics from the University of Nottingham. I also have research experience from the University of Bristol and the University of Tokyo. Working and studying in many Universities has left me with contacts in a wide range of graduate careers and lots to discuss regarding UCAS applications and future career choices.
I guide students to find their own way through difficult problems, through use of questioning and scaffolding techniques, rather than talking for long chunks of time. This encourages independence, confidence and enjoyment of the subject. I use a range of applications to captivate students during my lessons.
I have been told I have a calm, kind nature which helps students relax and thrive. My experience with all three exam boards ensures my tutor sessions are directed, timely and provide students with substantial grade improvement.
