Hi, I'm Simon! Having taught Physics for over 19 years at two top-rated schools, Tiffin Boys’ in Kingston and The Judd School in Tonbridge, plus 10 years working in FinTech software development and a year developing sonar software for the Royal Navy, I have a wealth of experience in guiding students through the intricacy and beauty of Physics, both in education and in its value in careers. Whilst leading the very successful Physics department at The Judd School, I was thrilled and honoured to receive a 2019 Physics Teacher Award from the highly respected Institute of Physics. I have a proven track-record of being able to demystify the subject and allow students of all abilities to recognise that they are capable of passing with a decent grade or indeed excelling in Physics and studying it further. Whether you are looking to achieve a level 4 at GCSE or push an A grade to an A* at A-level, I can help. Although I loved learning about Physics at school, I was far from being the ideal student and found studying a real challenge, particularly with all the other associated pressures of school. I have experience teaching primary students to help them prepare for 11+, SAT and Secondary School, KS3 students who need extra support, GSCE students preparing for their exams or A-level tuition. I also teach international students English as a second language and can help with international English examinations. Teaching is my passion – I endeavour to create a safe and welcoming environment, where questions are welcomed, and we learn that it’s okay to mistakes as it is part of the learning process. When teaching, I hope to portray the view that although English can be a challenge, it is one to be revelled in. Individuals will make progress at their own stage, but it is important to seize the opportunity to take control of our learning and develop our knowledge.
