Martin Warren-Computer science, Sports Science & PE
Fully qualified Computer Science, Sports Science & PE, Teacher with QTS
Dedicated and passionate educator with a diverse background in Computing and ICT, currently serving as a Teacher of Computing & ICT with a focus on Digital Competency Framework (DCF) leadership.
I am also an examiner for OCR, where I contribute to the development and assessment of Computing, ICT and Sport qualifications, and I serve as a consultant for Daydream Education, enhancing their computer science resources.
With a commitment to fostering positive behaviour and culture in educational settings, I have completed my NPQ in Leading Behaviour and Culture and am a fully qualified teacher (PCET). My experience spans over several years in secondary schools, where I've successfully taught Computing and ICT, preparing students for the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
I have taken two separate schools through the process of becoming Cyber First schools in UK. One in England and one in Wales. Before transitioning to education, I spent 13 years working in the secure estate within a private establishment, teaching Physical Education & Sports Science to young men aged 15-18.
In this role, I harnessed the power of sport to empower and inspire my students, enabling them to create pathways for their future. My work was recognized with nominations for the Beyond Sport award, the Butler Trust award, and a finalist position for Prison Officer of the Year in 2015.
My qualifications extend beyond teaching; I hold numerous vocational and academic credentials in sports and am IOSH trained. I possess a degree in ICT, as well as teaching, assessing, and verifying qualifications.
I also act as an examiner and moderator for OCR across various qualifications, including Computing, ICT and Sport. My extensive background in both education and physical fitness uniquely positions me to make a meaningful impact on the lives of my students and clients alike.
