My name is Anas Arraj, and I have a master's degree in electronics and electrical engineering from Brunel University London and a bachelor's degree in mechatronics engineering from the University of Balamand. I enjoy sharing my solid foundation in math, physics, and engineering principles with students to help them understand difficult ideas because of my academic background. My method of tutoring is centred on fostering self-assurance and problem-solving abilities, and I customise each session to fit the needs of each student. Making difficult subjects understandable and encouraging students to reach their full potential are two things I'm passionate about.

I tutor children across the primary phase, all the way from teaching how to read and write in English, to solving complex problems in Maths, to preparing them for their upcoming SATs exams. I tailor my lessons to cater for each child’s individual needs. I have a gentle and friendly approach towards children and I always look for ways to help them make connections between the things they learn and for them to develop a love for learning. I believe that every child is truly special and unique. I have successfully tutored children with specific learning needs and have lots of experience working with children with ADD and ADHD. I enjoy forming positive learning relationships with children and providing them with what they need in order to succeed. I studied at the University of Hertfordshire for my first degree and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at University College London (UCL). In My lessons, we focus on assisting with the development of ideas and arguments that can be applied with clarity to exam questions. I am particularly adept at helping students with their analytical skills, enabling them to showcase convincing judgements to examiners as well as perfecting their exam structure. I encourage engagement in my lessons and wish to provide a space where students feel comfortable to ask questions or say they are unsure. Through continual praise and encouragement, I am well suited to be able to help students that are anxious or cannot grasp areas of their subjects. I provide a plan of action for going forward and keep parents consulted on their child’s progress. I am also happy to set homework questions to build upon the skills covered in the lessons and will mark and give feedback on any work completed. I am a fully qualified English Language & Literature teacher. I have a Bachelor of Arts with Honours Degree & a Masters' Degree in Linguistics from Bangor University. I am educated to PhD level in Linguistics and I have over 10 years experience of tutoring / teaching English Language & Literature, EFL / ESOL and IELTS at different institutions from tutoring privately, to tutoring at Community Centres, Schools and at Universities. I primarily tutor English at Nat 5 / GCSE and Highers / A-Levels though I have plenty of experience teaching English as a foreign / Second language to all ages and levels both casually and professionally as well as academic English. I am also able to assist in the research methodology component of Nat 5 / Higher Psychology. I Can also teach KS2 as well but prefer to start from KS3 as the youngest target clientele. I do prefer to work with teens and adults but will consider younger. I currently lecture research methodology and English at an international College. I am also an examiner for Cambridge for the English general comprehension paper and the English Language paper. I have had a passion for language and assisting people with their learning since a very early age. I write poetry and, as as a lover of science fiction and fantasy, I engage in world building and write fantasy novels. My lessons are tailored to the needs of individuals. My approach is patient, compassionate and scholarly. I enjoy sharing wisdom with my students and cultivating a passion for learning for the sake of learning.
