Mahesh Badgujar-IBDP Physics, A Level Physics
IBDP, A Level Physics Teacher and Examiner
Mahesh Badgujar holds a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from COEP Technological University, Pune—one of Asia’s oldest and most prestigious engineering institutions. To complement his technical background with pedagogical expertise, he also earned a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from Pune University, graduating with distinction.
With over eight years of full-time school teaching experience, Mahesh has taught Physics across both the IB and Cambridge curricula and Science across MYP, IGCSE curricula. He is passionate about helping middle school students truly understand scientific concepts rather than rely on rote memorisation. He focuses on building conceptual clarity through inquiry-based learning and real-life applications, which not only helps students achieve high grades in middle school but also lays a strong foundation for success in high school science. His strong commitment to academic excellence and deep subject expertise has earned him the rare distinction of serving as an international examiner for some of the world’s most respected curricula—including IBDP Physics HL, GCE A Level Physics, and CAIE A Level Physics—an achievement held by very few educators globally.
Mahesh is deeply invested in continuous professional growth. He has successfully completed Category 1, 2, and 3 IB workshops, which speak to his thorough understanding of the IB philosophy and pedagogy. His commitment to collaborative learning extends beyond the classroom—he is an active Workshop Leader of SAIBSA (South Asia IB Schools Association) and MISA, regularly engaging with educators worldwide to share best practices and resources.
During his tenure at Victorious Kidss Educares, an IB World School in Pune, Mahesh worked closely with students requiring Special Educational Needs support. He taught MYP Science and Design to students in small groups and one-on-one settings, particularly those with behavioural challenges and learning difficulties. He also guided two IBDP students with diagnosed learning disabilities. While initially challenging, this experience turned out to be a significant turning point in his teaching journey. With strong support from the school’s counselling team and coordinator, Mahesh deepened his understanding of differentiated instruction and behavioural strategies. This not only enriched his ability to cater to diverse learners but also strengthened his overall teaching methodology.
Alongside his full-time roles in IB and CAIE schools, Mahesh has developed a strong reputation as an online tutor. He has worked with over 70 students from around the world, including those from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the UK, the USA, and Singapore. His students not only achieve excellent academic results but also genuinely enjoy his lessons—many even find his online sessions so engaging that they don't miss being in a physical classroom.
Mahesh brings the classroom alive online through a high-quality, interactive setup. His sessions are conducted on Zoom or Google Meet, supported by an HD webcam, podcast-quality microphone, digital writing pad, high-speed internet, and interactive tools like Pear Deck and Mural. His approach blends technology and pedagogy to ensure a dynamic and engaging learning experience for every student.
