I’m a highly experienced maths teacher and have excellent subject knowledge. I’m friendly, easy going and get excellent results through building good relationships with my students. I graduated from the University of York with BSc honours and i have Masters of Science (MSc) from Aston University. I then went to Arthur Terry Teaching School Validated by Birmingham City University to do my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I’m currently Head of Key Stage 3 Maths in an outstanding secondary school and have experience teaching all secondary school ages. The sessions I run are specifically designed for each individual student. This considers the level they are currently working at, target grade, their areas for development and preferred learning style. At GCS level, I build into each session past exam questions, including problem solving questions using the techniques learnt in the lesson. Being forced to work at home during lockdown meant a change in my working practices. I have had the opportunity to develop my online teaching at KS2, KS3 & GCSE with positive feedback from my students and their parents. I can use a variety of learning platforms through which to teach the lesson, making the most of technology to model any of the topics being studied. I find it reаlly rewаrding tо see а student reаch their gоаls аnd tаke pride in inspiring аnd cоntributing tо their аchievements. I аspire tо deliver success fоr аll оf my students.

I have been a maths teacher for a few years now in different secondary schools throughout the county. My roles within school have been varied and include head of KS3 maths. In addition, I have also spent part of my career as a maths advisor within the school improvement sector, developing teaching and learning in a range of secondary schools. I am a very friendly, easy going and highly experienced in various areas of i mathematics across different levels i.e. GCSE, A Level and degree level. I am a recent graduate in Accounting focused on preserving work ethic and striving to help others achieve desirable outcomes. A self driven passion not only for problem solving and analysing but also tutoring, as I find it most comforting seeing students progress under my guidance. I excel in my areas of mathematics from key stage 1 to key stage 4 which allows me to help students achieve their maximum potential. I aspire to incorporate various elements of previous educational background in order to help students excel in their knowledge. I value students' opinion as I believe it is key to making sure that they understand the process and breakdown of a question. My passion for tutoring mathematics developed overtime as I constructed short high valued videos on TikTok which showed the essential steps to solve a problem. With a mass following of over 400,000 followers on my account i.e. TheM4thCorner, it allowed me to transition to a bigger platform i.e. YouTube, which would enable me to communicate to the audience more effectively and it would be more engaging. I do this by asking questions, allowing students to answer and correcting any misunderstanding. I believe in making the lessons fun and teaching the students at a pace which would not only make them comfortable but make the whole learning process meaningful. Especially for students that are anxious or cannot fully grasp a topic. I am happy to inform parents of their child's progress and praise them for their efforts. Also ensuring that the child has access to various exam based questions and help sheets in order to build their knowledge and fully equip them for the exam. I build a strong relationship with my students so as to boost their confidence when tackling a difficult concept. Approaching different methods to suit the needs of each student as I believe everyone is special in their own unique way. As a teacher my job is to set a growth mindset towards the learning of the subject. I am passionate about mathematics and logic since I was in year 2. I have consistently scored highest grades in my Math exams all through my education. I later earned a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science and went on to a corporate job with multinationals. I have done quite a bit of charity education helping needy kids learning mathematics. I have been tutoring Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal reasoning for 11+ for quite a few years now. I am tutoring secondary school year children (including GCSEs). I am also helping few home-schooled students. I try to encourage participation into my lessons so that conversation is bidirectional. Children who are more comfortable with their tutor, normally progress faster. I do like to strike a right balance by keeping the learning pressure on by providing assignments while also ensuring that child is having the right interest level.

I am a qualified teacher of Mathematics (QTS) with 24 years of teaching experience. I have taught students in different settings with varying needs and abilities and have had great success with students improving and maximising their outcome in different assessments. I have had the opportunity throughout my teaching career to work in the capacity as second in charge of maths, maths intervention teacher, APP (Assessing Pupil Progress) Coordinator for KS3 Maths, PGCE and NQT maths mentor and marker for GCSE external maths examination. To allow students to progress and develop a better understanding of the subject, I use hands-on-approach and investigative open- ended problems. To help boost their confidents and improved their mathematical skills and knowledge, I use a wide range of strategies and mode of delivery. One successful strategy that I use is the PiXL (Partners in Excellence) intervention approach. This is where student’s weak areas are diagnosed; intervention or therapy is given, followed by testing (DTT). In my role as an external GCSE marker, I had to know the specification and the marking methods for examinations. I reviewed and completed examination reports based on student’s responses in their external exams. I ensure that my students meet the requirements of the examination boards and can apply mathematical content in functional settings. This allows them to produce well worked and written answers based on the specification requirements. I have at least 10 years of teaching maths online. I have used various platforms such as Skype, Zoom and Microsoft Teams. I have taught students online from different countries such as the Bahamas, Jamaica, England and the USA.
