I am a qualified Mathematics teacher, with sound knowledge and understanding of teaching Science, ICT & Business Studies. I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) & Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the University of Brighton UK.

My Specialism is Mathematics. I hаve а trаck recоrd оf success аnd delivering results thrоugh privаte tutоring аnd аt clаssrооm levels. I hаve over seventeen years' experience of working at various schools and helping students from KS3 through KS4 and beyond. I hаve enаbled so many students mаximise and achieve their potentials.

I am passionate about helping students gain confidence and аchieve their goals. I hаve personally prоfessiоnаlly develоped myself through trainings and courses tо be better plаced in order tо deliver high quаlity educаtiоn. The sessions I run are specifically designed for each individual students and also small groups. This considers the level they are currently working at, target grade, their areas for development and preferred learning styles.

I tailor my sessions to each student’s individual learning style and their relevant exam board. I use zoom and a collaborative whiteboard with a writing board and pen to go over concepts, ideas and calculations. I can also use Microsoft Teams for my teaching if that is your preference.

Teaching/ Tutoring experience

  •  Working closely with Local Government Authority around different London boroughs in supporting out-of-school students towards getting back into education.
  •  Private Teacher/Tutor of English, Mathematics, Science, ESOL, Functional Skills to students with challenging behaviour on a one-on-one/small groups basis in their home, libraries and/or learning centres such as CALAT, Croydon Central Library.
  • Supply Private Teacher/Tutor in mainstream schools.
  • Mentoring and guiding students.
  • Preparing, planning and teaching lessons to KS3/4 students.
  • Engaging in departmental meetings to develop and modify lesson plans and some parts of the curriculum.
  • Assessing students through basic routine tests and termly exams.
  • Keeping good contact with parents and updating them about their child’s progress and/or raising any concern.

I find it very rewarding to see students reach their full potential and I take pride in being part of that.

My Daughter was Tutored by Aisha (Science Tutor), whose been amazing. Initially she had little or no confidence in her ability to achieve GCSE level and had lost interest in the subjects. Aisha took her on and her teaching style was perfect in building up my daughter's confidence, so much so she went from Grade 3 to achieving Grade 8 in all 3 Science subjects. Aisha was patient, compassionate, flexible in adapting her teaching style and pace to suit my daughter's needs. Allow me to thank Sue Schulkins for the wonderful work she has done with our son’s English classes. We have seen our son’s interest grow as the sessions have progressed. Before Sue started out with him - I noticed she gathered as much information as she could and she listened to us and even adopted some of our methods. She improved on them and added her own unique creativity. She was very unlike some teachers who would insist on using their own method - she never did that. She was able to find out from our son his expectations and discovered he loves unusually funny narratives. She incorporated this into her curriculum and we have seen such a marked improvement in his English comprehension. He is having fun during the English sessions and his work has improved. He is attentive and focused. Sue Schulkins is certainly a different kind of teacher and we are very happy with her work. Well done Sue.
