I’m a highly experienced English Literature & Language teacher/ tutor. I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Law & English Literature and I have excellent exam and subject knowledge. I’m friendly, easy going and get excellent results through building good relationships with my students.

The sessions I run are specifically designed for each individual student. This considers the level they are currently working at, target grade, their areas for development and preferred learning style. At GCSE, I build into each session past exam questions using the techniques learnt in the lesson.

I teach all exam boards. I am happy to set homework questions to build upon the skills covered and will mark and give feedback on any work completed. In addition, I provide a plan of work to be covered for the term/ year after consulting with students and parents.

I have been an English Literature and language tutor/ teacher for a few years now. My tutoring approach is predominantly centred around essay practice. As this is the crux of both English Literature and language, together we will explore the optimum structure, language and content for GCSE essays.

Independent practice essays created from the student’s exam Specifications will be set and marked by me, before being discussed and improved in the lesson. Being forced to work at home during lockdown meant a change in my working practices.

I have had the opportunity to develop my online teaching at KS3 and  GCSE with positive feedback from my students and their parents. I can use a variety of learning platforms through which to teach the lesson, making the most of technology to model any of the topics being studied.
