I am an experienced fully qualified and practising Mathematics teacher with full DBS clearance currently working with a school in the West Midlands. I teach GCSE Mathematics (KS3 and KS4) and A-level (Core Maths and Mechanics).

I have given tuition to individuals and small groups of students at varying levels and age groups. I offer friendly, relaxed, interactive and supportive lessons individually or in groups tailored exactly to the student requirements.

I am very patient and enjoy helping others to learn. My students have fun while they study and are always proud of their progress. I encourage a genuine interest in the subject making connections and links in science and the real world.

I am flexible travelling around the West Midlands. I offer online lessons with interactive software and this helps my students to participate actively during lessons.

As an examiner of GCSE Mathematics, I have gained experience in identifying common mistakes and some of the best strategies to help students correct them but also secure learning outcomes.

Being forced to work at home during lockdown meant a change in my working practices. I have had the opportunity to develop my online teaching at KS3, GCSE and A level with positive feedback from my students and their parents. I can use a variety of learning platforms through which to teach the lesson, making the most of technology to model any of the topics being studied.

I find it reаlly rewаrding tо see а student reаch their gоаls аnd tаke pride in inspiring аnd cоntributing tо their аchievements.

Allow me to thank Sue Schulkins for the wonderful work she has done with our son’s English classes. We have seen our son’s interest grow as the sessions have progressed. Before Sue started out with him - I noticed she gathered as much information as she could and she listened to us and even adopted some of our methods. She improved on them and added her own unique creativity. She was very unlike some teachers who would insist on using their own method - she never did that. She was able to find out from our son his expectations and discovered he loves unusually funny narratives. She incorporated this into her curriculum and we have seen such a marked improvement in his English comprehension. He is having fun during the English sessions and his work has improved. He is attentive and focused. Sue Schulkins is certainly a different kind of teacher and we are very happy with her work. Well done Sue.

My son worked with Katie Jackson for his GCSE Combined Science ( Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) and it made a real difference.
