I’m a highly experienced maths teacher and have excellent subject knowledge at both GCSE and A level. I’m friendly, easy going and get excellent results through building good relationships with my students.

The sessions I run are specifically designed for each individual student. This considers the level they are currently working at, target grade, their areas for development and preferred learning style. At GCSE and A level I build into each session past exam questions, including problem solving questions using the techniques learnt in the lesson.

I am happy to set homework questions to build upon the skills covered and will mark and give feedback on any work completed. In addition, I provide a plan of work to be covered for the term/ year after consulting with students and parents.

I have been a maths teacher for 26 years in different secondary schools throughout the West Midlands and South Yorkshire. My roles within school have been varied and include head of maths and lead practitioner.

In addition, I have also spent part of my career as a maths advisor within the school improvement sector, developing teaching and learning in a range of secondary schools. I keep up to date on all the recent changes in GCSE and A level maths.

Being forced to work at home during lockdown meant a change in my working practices. I have had the opportunity to develop my online teaching at KS3, GCSE and A level with positive feedback from my students and their parents.

I can use a variety of learning platforms through which to teach the lesson, making the most of technology to model any of the topics being studied.

Aisha took her on and her teaching style was perfect in building up my daughter's confidence, so much so she went from Grade 3 to achieving Grade 8 in all 3 Science subjects. Allow me to thank Sue Schulkins for the wonderful work she has done with our son’s English classes. We have seen our son’s interest grow as the sessions have progressed. Before Sue started out with him - I noticed she gathered as much information as she could and she listened to us and even adopted some of our methods. She improved on them and added her own unique creativity. She was very unlike some teachers who would insist on using their own method - she never did that. She was able to find out from our son his expectations and discovered he loves unusually funny narratives. She incorporated this into her curriculum and we have seen such a marked improvement in his English comprehension. He is having fun during the English sessions and his work has improved. He is attentive and focused. Sue Schulkins is certainly a different kind of teacher and we are very happy with her work. Well done Sue.

My son worked with Katie Jackson for his GCSE Combined Science ( Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) and it made a real difference.
