I’m a highly experienced tutor who has worked with primary school up to A Level students, including SEND. I specialise in History, English Language & Literature and Science (Biology, Chemistry), with exam-board-specific knowledge enabling students to achieve the top grades. I’m approachable and empathetic, which ensures that my students gain excellent results through building an exceptional professional relationship. I hаve significаnt experience аt levels frоm KS2, KS3, GCSE & A-LEVEL - each student leaves my lessons feeling accomplished and one step closer to achieving their individual goals. I can teach History up to A-level and the rest of my subjects up to GCSE.

My lessons are specifically designed for each individual student. This considers the level they are currently working at, target grade, their areas for development and preferred learning style. I use scientifically-backed techniques such as active recall in my 'Spaced Retrieval' exercises to strengthen long-term memory  to ensure the student is prepared for the exam, yet also develops life-long skills. Alongside this, application questions and knowledge recall feature heavily in my lessons, to the student's request.

I am happy to set homework questions to build upon the skills covered and will mark and give feedback on any work completed.

Allow me to thank Sue Schulkins for the wonderful work she has done with our son’s English classes. We have seen our son’s interest grow as the sessions have progressed. Before Sue started out with him - I noticed she gathered as much information as she could and she listened to us and even adopted some of our methods. She improved on them and added her own unique creativity. She was very unlike some teachers who would insist on using their own method - she never did that. She was able to find out from our son his expectations and discovered he loves unusually funny narratives. She incorporated this into her curriculum and we have seen such a marked improvement in his English comprehension. He is having fun during the English sessions and his work has improved. He is attentive and focused. Sue Schulkins is certainly a different kind of teacher and we are very happy with her work. Well done Sue.
