I am a fully qualified Secondary School Science Teacher and Head of year based in East London. I have a upper second class master's degree in Biology from the University of York, PGCE from King's College London, and work at an Ofsted rated outstanding large East London secondary school.

I have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a valid DBS check. I have 5 years teaching experience for all key stages including exam classes with favourable results. I am an experienced private tutor, having tutored private clients and through the National Tutoring Programme over the last 3 years.

I am available to work with most exam boards and will prepare the appropriate resources for each student based on their needs.

I encourage engagement in my lessons and wish to provide a space where students feel comfortable to ask questions or say they are unsure. Through continual praise and encouragement, I am well suited to be able to help students that are anxious or cannot grasp areas of their subjects. I provide a plan of action for going forward and keep parents consulted on their child’s progress. I am also happy to set homework questions to build upon the skills covered in the lessons and will mark and give feedback on any work completed.

The platforms I use to teach online are Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft teams.

The ability to experience each student’s progress at every stage is incredibly rewarding and a wonderful part of my role as a tutor.

Allow me to thank Sue Schulkins for the wonderful work she has done with our son’s English classes. We have seen our son’s interest grow as the sessions have progressed. Before Sue started out with him - I noticed she gathered as much information as she could and she listened to us and even adopted some of our methods. She improved on them and added her own unique creativity. She was very unlike some teachers who would insist on using their own method - she never did that. She was able to find out from our son his expectations and discovered he loves unusually funny narratives. She incorporated this into her curriculum and we have seen such a marked improvement in his English comprehension. He is having fun during the English sessions and his work has improved. He is attentive and focused. Sue Schulkins is certainly a different kind of teacher and we are very happy with her work. Well done Sue.
