Fiya Shah – Science, Maths, & Economics tutor

Fully qualified Science, Maths, & Economics tutor

BIO

I am graduate from Imperial College London studying Chemistry & Civil Environmental Engineering. I also completed the International Baccalaureate in Chemistry, Physics & Mathematics in 2017 and IGCSEs in 2015.

I have over 5 years of classroom teaching and tutoring experience at KS3, KS4 & A-level . I have also worked for different tutoring agencies including Tutorfair.  My tutoring experience include teaching IB students in Chemistry, Physics, Maths & Economics.

In the first session, I will set quantitative and qualitative goals and expectations. I will take time to explain the topic and use a scaffolding technique to slowly gain the students understanding of the topic. In addition to teaching the core material, I will try and provide examples of how it is used in the real world. I shall make the sessions interactive and involve the student in every way possible.

I think I would make a great tutor because I will personalise the learning, incorporate connections to the my students interests, teach to the student’s strengths and minimise the student’s weaknesses.

To get a 7 in math’s and physics HL, I not only learnt the syllabus but looked at past examiner reports, grade boundaries and teacher guides to ensure I could make sure I got the 7.

I am passionate about Physics, Chemistry Biology and Maths, I look forward to working with students who are excited about a variety of academic disciplines.

I really look forward to teaching your son/daughter.
